23:45 <****> I'm not sure about that either Carl, sorry! I use pma to fiddle with everything, taking a larger interest in how it all works underneath
23:46 <****> kk, gimme a second
23:46 <****> Does your table have any data in?
23:46 <****> yes
23:47 <****> How much?
23:47 <****> 660 rows - pretty even distribution across day/month
23:47 <****> You shouldn't need PRIMARY and an INDEX on event_id, just PRIMARY should do
23:47 <****> oh kk
23:48 <****> wan't a need, just trying to fiugure out why it was picking which index
23:48 <****> i have a hierarchy table with sub and super. also, a transitive closure table maintained by the triggers in http://pastebin.com/d1187e377
23:48 <****> i'm stuck on the delete 'cause i don't know how to delete from some table where (sub, super, _g) = select ... from hierarchy AS hihg, hierarchy AS low, ...
23:48 <****> is there a form of delete that includes joins in the constraints?
23:49 <****> calibration hint: i'm probably just hopelessly uneducated on this point and your obvious answer will help me
23:50 <****> CarlFK: Yeah, me too now - happens on my system
23:50 <****> 5.0.45
23:53 <****> I am unable to get intersection of related records with INNER JOIN
23:53 <****> SELECT T1.id,T1.title,T2.id,T2.title FROM article as T1 LEFT JOIN article_tag AS J ON J.article_id=T1.id INNER JOIN article AS T2 ON J.article_id=T2.id
23:53 <****> anyone could help?
23:55 <****> CarlFK: Well I'm guessing MySQL is seeing them both the same despite DayMon will allow it to stay away from data with an 'using index' optimisation. Which I would have thought would make it faster. But I'm guessing MySQL is just picking the first index it comes across (I assume is in the order of how you define them) as both are seen as the same.
23:55 <****> Although it is a funny little thing
23:55 <****> Also, are you sure you need so many NULL columns?
23:57 <****> _Lemon_: that table is just a 'buffer' for doing a conversion from Access
23:57 <****> lo
23:57 <****> when ALTERing a tables charset / collation, are its contents being converted as well?
23:58 <****> I used the MySQL migration tool to plop the data into MySql, then have some code to munge it into the final table
23:59 <****> ahhh ok
23:59 <****> ppl how to add database file.sql to mySql databases ?
