04:03 <****> yes, it totally confuses me at the momment :)
04:04 <****> regardless of timezone, though, 2008 brings GTA02 :D
04:04 <****> borg_: I always remember: I'm at GMT-3 (except on summer time when I'm at GMT-2), and Greenwich (which is GMT) is to the east. I calculate from there (always on GMT so as to not lose track of the signs)
04:05 <****> moko-bunny: which even has extra hardware, meaning the battery will run down even faster :D
04:05 <****> I'm cheating, I have Qlock installed :) wish it was still free :-/
04:05 <****> cesarb: yeah, /me needs to figure out a car charger and then I'll be set :)
04:06 <****> http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/84/2007-02-20_time_zones_white_bck.svg
04:06 <****> china has only one timezone?
04:06 * cesarb has to finish this cpufreq code so the battery will last longer
04:06 <****> borg_: yeah, a single timezone. Neat, isn't it?
04:06 * SpeedEvil has - hopedfully - debug board on way
04:06 <****> so /me plans to do some more stuff on cpufreq/uboot
04:06 <****> uhm, sunrise must be at 14:00 in some regions there
04:07 <****> In much of china they have little need of clocks.
04:07 <****> One hell of a lot of dirt-poor there.
04:08 <****> SpeedEvil: so far I've written (but not tested or even compiled) the cpufreq driver, and changed the idle routine so as to not enter idle from slow mode. I still have to write the cpufreq notifiers for the drivers before I can test.
04:08 <****> :)
04:09 <****> cesarb: nice!
04:09 <****> This is simply slow to 36(?) Mhz - the minimum specified clock?
04:09 <****> not going to slow mode?
04:09 <****> borg_: don't get so excited, I didn't even COMPILE it yet!
04:09 * moko-bunny wants an engine noise that tracks cpufreq :D
04:10 <****> SpeedEvil: I put in code to go to up to slow /12... might have to prune it a bit, the LCD driver might not like going so low
04:10 <****> cesarb: maybe
04:10 <****> moko-bunny: sound is one of the places cpufreq is going to cause problems (audio will glitch when changing the frequency)
04:10 <****> the glamo chip has no sound handling?
04:11 <****> it's purely video?
04:11 <****> SpeedEvil: I'm not worrying about the glamo, I'm on GTA01
04:11 <****> I was meaning for release
04:11 <****> SpeedEvil: dunno, but I'd expect the sound to be connected to the cpu
04:12 <****> I was joking, of course, but in retrospect, it might be a nice tool to debug/monitor how the freq stuff is working.
04:12 <****> i drove ~500 km over german autobahn yesterday and gprs did work without any interrupt, btw
04:12 <****> yeah. It'd be really nice if the glamo chip was smart enough to take a list of blocks from the SD to play audio/video.
04:12 <****> but oh well.
04:12 <****> gps and navit worked well too, but the osm data wasnt good enough :\
04:23 <****> SpeedEvil: if you want to see what I've done so far, I uploaded the (completely untested) patch (with the notifiers still missing) to http://www.pastebin.ca/840611
04:26 <****> SpeedEvil: the notifiers are an easier part (with some gotchas like having to use the hardware flow control on the UARTs to make the other side stop for a while so as to not drop characters), the testing will be annoying (at least unless I figure out how to build it outside the OE tree), and the real hardware test will be scary (as usual)
06:17 <****> happy new year all
06:44 <****> Hi all...
06:44 <****> how can i execute a sample application in qemu emulator ?
06:45 <****> sreekanth, howdy, is it yours?
06:46 <****> Sup3rkiddo: Not mine. A sample application from the tool chain
06:47 <****> sreekanth, oh, if its not GUI, you could ssh into the emulator..there are docs for ii...
06:47 <****> (at the wiki)
06:48 <****> Sup3rkiddo: if do ssh, it is asking for the password ...
06:58 <****> Hi all ...
06:59 <****> How can i excute a sample application on qemu emulator ?
07:00 <****> when i tried using ssh, it asks me password ..
07:00 <****> whats the password that i have to give ?
07:00 <****> I following the page http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Toolchain#Building_a_sample_project ...
07:12 <****> How to copy an application into a real neo device ?
07:47 <****> GOVERNOR ROMNEY: "And further, if I were fortunate enough to be elected your President, I'd call for a National Summit of Nations to create a new partnership – a Partnership for [Progress] and Prosperity."
07:53 <****> Hi all
07:53 <****> how to compile a GTK application using cross compiler ?
08:31 <****> any word on how much the GTA02 will cost?
08:32 <****> I've been looking at the Community updates
08:36 <****> doh! found it
08:36 <****> Base is $450, advance $600 :O
10:21 <****> HNY all!
10:42 <****> hi! who in germany has a debug board and could lend it to me or let me send him my neo to unbrick it? distance doesn't matter I will pay the shipping fee.
11:46 <****> HNY! ;)
12:35 <****> Grått nytt hår!
12:37 <****> Joda, om det er grått så :P
12:37 <****> happy arbitrary incrementation day to you too :)
12:38 <****> that's an interesting way of putting it =)
12:38 <****> men ja, grått nytt hår till alla svensktaliga :)
12:41 <****> yay, coffee!
12:41 <****> Yay, more vodka!
13:39 <****> Hi, Question - why dont I have a command lsusb? How can I be sure I am in u-boot mode?
13:42 <****> u-boot mode looks like: http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Flashing_openmoko
13:42 <****> two pages down
13:45 <****> I got lsof but I run a built from 20071227
13:53 <****> kinneh, Thanks, After I get that boot menu, I talk to it with cu -l /dev/ttyACM0, and there are a lot of commands
13:54 <****> described in wiki/U-boot and wiki/Bootloader_commands, and I have tried those that seem safe and they work as described.
13:54 <****> clare_: yes so what do you want to accomplish ?
13:54 <****> flash what ?
13:55 <****> but the command help, which lists all these commands (e.g. printenv, and s3c2410 speed list (for example), does not include lsusb.
13:55 <****> l;susb is a linux command
13:55 <****> what are you tyryuing to do?
13:56 <****> ah
13:56 <****> Right now, I want to find out why my Neo seems not to do waht the wiki says it should do,
13:58 <****> what're you trying to do?
13:58 <****> clare_: SpeedEvil said it right, you need to ssh into the linux to be able to do lsusb
13:58 <****> not in the u-boot mode
13:58 <****> u-boot mode is mostly used for upgrading the neo
14:00 <****> SpeedEvil, the page wiki/U-boot#Using_usbtty_from_Linux , which was recommended to me yesgterday is where I found that.
14:00 <****> what're you trying to do?
14:01 <****> clare_: lsusb is from you workstation
14:01 <****> in another xterm
14:02 <****> Right, If the whole effect has been to confuse me, I will sgtart again. I couldn't beleive that the command was there for several reasons..
14:04 <****> But I am curious now as to how the writer of the page wiki/U-boot# Using usbtty from Linux got the result he seemed ot get.
14:04 <****> well ?
14:05 <****> Well, apart from hoping eventually to make some usable documentation, what I am tryng to do is boot from the SD card.
14:08 <****> nidenatlly if I ssh into the Neo and say lsusb I only get one or 2 lines result not a large page like that wiki writer got.
14:08 <****> lsusb will only do a short resulty unless you give the -v switch
14:09 <****> also you have to turn on the bluetooth device before you see it
14:09 <****> well my neo has "lsusb -d 1457:5122"
14:09 <****> try lsusb -v first to get all devices then you can find your
14:14 <****> SpeedEvil, Thank you, I have not even thought about Bluetooth yet, maybe tomorrow... however I have now done lsusb -v and got a big page of answer
14:15 <****> On the neo that should simply be the information about the root hub
