00:29 <****> Linux is still at 2.6
00:29 <****> What is this obsession with version 4?
00:29 <****> Perl 4, Linux 4, Windows NT 4?
00:29 <****> PHP 4?
00:29 <****> MySQL 4?
00:30 <****> Beer?
00:30 <****> Beer 4?
00:30 <****> I think it's a conspiracy
00:30 <****> "Linux 4"
00:30 <****> Hahaha
00:30 <****> Where's mofino when you need him.
00:30 <****>
00:30 <****> Ah, "some" reason.
00:30 <****> I'd be sort of surprised if Linux ever gets to 3
00:31 <****> hrm one of those don't exist, the others are not so good
00:31 <****> jagerman: btw, there is very good server package for Windows - denwer.
00:31 <****> jagerman: only 0.4 away!
00:31 <****> There are no plans for "linux 3".
00:31 <****> fantomas: Too bad about the Windows part, though.
00:31 <****> I'm far from up to date with Linux's development
00:31 <****> jagerman: Version numbers do seem to sort of recursively descend
00:31 <****> jagerman: skip this part
00:31 <****> What kind of features are we to expect in the relatively near future?
00:32 <****> Free porn with every kernel
00:32 <****> It's time to start making people use Linux
00:32 <****> jagerman: the good news - internal directory structure of this package inherits original one with /usr, /bin etc :)
00:32 <****> oop
00:32 <****> \usr \bin I meant
00:32 <****> the windows way =)
00:32 <****> fantomas: I really have no interest in running anything aside from the occassional game on Windows, thanks.
00:32 <****> jagerman, WOW - Open Source Porn (OSP)
00:33 <****> Awesome notion or what?
00:33 <****> "Open" source indeed.
00:33 <****> Already done, I believe.
00:33 <****> jagerman: good point
00:33 <****> So, activeperl
00:33 <****> dwu, where? :o
00:33 <****> *shrug* If you can think of X variety of porn, chances are a google will turn up something.
00:34 * jagerman is reminded of an xkcd comic
00:34 <****> booble?
00:34 <****> hah
00:34 <****> http://xkcd.com/305/
00:35 <****> Transformer slash. Done, read, ;)
00:36 <****> Brilliant, where?
00:36 <****> Wait, again?
00:36 <****> dwu: YES.
00:36 <****> SEND.
00:38 <****> More disturbing than transformers slash is the fact that so many people are interested in it.
00:38 <****> Transformers slash? What's that?
00:39 <****> linux 4 masses
00:39 <****> Jule_: Excellent.
00:39 <****> Is what it is.
00:40 <****> Jule_: I'm getting transformer porn of some sort?
00:40 <****> iank: disturbing? maybe. surprising? definitely not in #perl :)
00:41 <****> err
00:41 <****> jagerman: that is a strange present to be getting :)
00:41 <****> s/getting/guessing/
00:41 <****> jagerman: correct!
00:41 <****> Oh, wait
00:41 <****> That's not fun.

00:42 <****> buu - if you come across any games remotely resembling Portal let me know
00:42 <****> prey
00:42 <****> I am rather disappointed it is over
00:42 <****> Limbic_Region: Yeah! You finally got past it?
00:42 <****> no, I haven't had time
00:42 <****> I did however watch a utube video of it
00:42 <****> Limbic_Region: What was it, something like "I have a problem crossing a distance very quickly"
00:43 <****> You have a portal gun!
00:43 <****> my issue is the lack of mouse
00:43 <****> you don't have time to finish the game, but you're disappointed it's over?
00:43 <****> Portal wasn't the best of all games - but man, it was innovative, that was trippy
00:43 <****> the button to the incinerator isn't that far
00:43 <****> Limbic_Region: Why were you trying to run there?
00:43 <****> but getting the pieces picked up and dropped in
00:44 <****> in time without the mouse is a PITA
00:44 <****> Jule_: I think portal might be the best game I've ever played.
00:44 <****> buu - have you played the spiritual predecessor?
00:44 <****> the game was ok.. the running commentary was great
00:44 <****> Limbic_Region: The way I do it now is drop the sphere next to the incinerator, open a portal above the incin, run to the button, open it, then drop the differenytly colored portal under the sphere.
00:44 <****> Limbic_Region: I doubt it, what are you referring to?
00:45 <****> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narbacular_Drop
00:45 <****> Ohh
00:45 <****> buu - that may work for me
00:46 <****> Interesting.
00:46 <****> Limbic_Region: Don't forget all of the bonus and challenge maps.
00:46 <****> buu - actually, I have been thinking about trying to get Hammer so I can build my own
00:47 <****> Hah.
00:47 <****> worldforge now
00:47 <****> I was recently pondering playing with the HL2 sdk.
00:47 <****> I am told it isn't for the faint of heart
00:47 <****> fairly painful
00:48 <****> definitely a dev tool by devs for devs
00:51 <****> buu - I am trying to understand how your portal above the incinerator trick works
00:51 <****> oh wait
00:51 <****> Limbic_Region: Open a portal above the incinerator.
00:51 <****> nevermind
00:51 <****> I get it
